My Many Faces of Trauma

My Many Faces of Trauma

Written By Jenni Bailey

My trauma is misbehaving

There’s something it’s craving

It doesn’t need Jesus, no Saving

It feels like an exposed wire

My tongue is on fire

My armor is my pink and black attire

I wear my hair like a crown

I don’t smile, but I also don’t frown

My body is talking…keep it down

Keep going…you’ve been through worse

I hate saying that, but it’s time you put YOU first

But how do I stop carrying everything around like a purse?

I own my purse, not this!

Just blow it a kiss!

It’s the exposed wire…let it hiss!
